Roots and Wings

Lord Byron said, "But words are things, small drops of ink, falling like dew upon a thought, produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions THINK."

It is startling to think of words that way but it is so very true. Just a single word can make someone smile, laugh or even cry. I hope to use mine to share with others the wonderfulness that is my life as a modern day farmer's daughter trying to make it in the big world. (When I say big I mean a town of more than 1,000 people with a stop light.)

Growing up on a small family farm, showing cattle and judging livestock have all given me a unique perspective to life, one that I want to share with you. Keep up with me as I enjoy my last year of college, travel across the country on the University's Livestock Judging Team, and transition into my career. And through it all I hope to grow wings to take me far and sprout roots that will keep me planted to my family farm values for years to come.

So join me as I get both my roots and wings, and if I write one word that makes you stop and think this blog will be a success.
